The next generation of GPUs, including those from NVIDIA, Intel, and AMD, may arrive at retailers later than expected, according to new rumors that suggest the latest graphics cards from these companies, such as the oft-rumored GeForce RTX 5090 and what could very well be a Radeon RX 8900 XT/XTX, will not surface until early 2025. AMD had suggested through its roadmaps that RDNA 4 parts would be launching this year, while Intel had similar plans with its next generation of Arc GPUs, “Battlemage,” with marketing materials alluding to a 2024 release.
From a report (machine translation):
- “Various sources who are in close contact with Nvidia reported to Tweakers during the Computex fair that the new generation of video cards will not go on sale until early 2025 according to the current planning.”
- “The moment of announcement could probably be as early as 2024, but that has not yet been determined.”
- “In any case, there will be no significant volumes available for a possible sales start for the new calendar year.”
- “The reasons for the postponement of Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 50 series are easy to guess…Nvidia doesn’t have to worry about competition for the time being…”
- “The next generations of video cards from AMD and Intel will not appear until early 2025. Tweakers verified this with several sources during the Computex 2024 fair in Taipei.”
Some conflicting reports:
Nothing have changed this week. Still Q4 2024.

Really no idea how an official tiers one AIB can say 2025…
Speculation from earlier this month:
It is possible that AMD and Intel will announce their new GPUs just before the end of the year to meet the aforementioned deadlines, but an actual release at the CES fair in early January is more likely. In any case, availability will only start in the new year.
